What to do inside a casino
So, you’ve entered the casino – what do you do next? Well, providing you have brought some money with you, you can walk up to the table of your choice. If you haven’t brought any money with you then you should head towards the cashdesk where they will be able to cash a cheque for you, take money from your debit card or even exchange foreign money for sterling (note: they are not allowed to give advances on credit cards by law).
A lot of casino’s now have internal ATM machines (like a hole in the wall) where you can withdraw cash yourself. Once you’ve arrived at the table you should give the dealer your money – dealers are not allowed to take money from your hand so place it on the table where they can see it. They will take your cash, count it out on the table and give you the same value back in chips, the money you have given them will go into a hole in the table.
Just because you have chips in front of you does not mean that you have to play every game – you can just watch what the other players on the table are doing before you decide to join in. Some casino’s have leaflets on their tables explaining the rules of each game, if your casino does not have these and you are uncertain of anything then do not hesitate to ask the dealer or the person watching the game (inspector).
When you have finished playing you return to the cashdesk and hand over your chips – they will exchange these back to cash for you.
It really is quite simple – and casino’s aren’t all about gambling either, most have a bar and a restaurant so why not make a night of it !
